One of the great things about our business is working with the design community. Several months ago we began conceptualizing an event that would showcase their work and put them in the spotlight. Five Colorado designers were selected to participate and were asked to design a bed using any products by THE BRASS BED that would highlight their style, personality and aesthetic. After many weeks of planning, their ideas and ours came to fruition when on May 19, we held our first Designer Event, “Reimagining Your Bedroom.”  

 

To say the least, the reveal was exceptional. Installations ranged from an old-world design featuring a linen duvet cover adorned with olive branches and crocheted lace pillow covers, to a design that could only be described as “contemporary elegance” where the designer mixed a blue ombre cotton duvet cover together with a silvery-lavender croc-patterned coverlet, woven natural linen pillow covers, and a ribbon-knitted throw. The use of materials, patterns and colors was unexpected and exquisite. In fact, all of the designs showed the enormous range for our product line as various pieces and parts were mixed and matched to create interior designs that would suit any home. 

 

It was a super fun evening for everyone. It was especially interesting to see how the designers put things together that we had not thought of before. Comments ranged from, “I wish there were more opportunities for designers to get together like this,” to “This is the best event any retailer has ever had in Cherry Creek.” Along with the tasty bites served, which included a crazy-good grilled cheese with chorizo (a staff favorite), to well-paired wine served by our good friends at The Vineyard, we think we covered all the bases for a successful event and can’t wait to do this again next May!
